Many petrol heads consider the 1964 Pontiac GTO to be the first real musclecar. Pontiac is hoping its latest GTO will be as successful as that original of four decades ago. The 2004 version offers plenty of adrenaline-pumping hardware (350-horsepower Corvette-sourced V-8, six-speed gearbox, tight suspension, and sporty 17-inch wheels), and its performance is solid--but there's room for more.
