Product Details

Lingenfelter CNC ported LS9 cylinder heads are complete new GM cast aluminum cylinder heads that are sold individually with light-weight titanium intake valves and hollow stem sodium filled exhaust valves designed to be durable even under extreme high temperature conditions seen with supercharged or turbocharged applications. These heads can be used for LS2, LS3 or LS9 based applications.

The LS9 C6 ZR1 Corvette cylinder heads feature valve guides and seats designed to be compatible with titanium valves, providing a cost effective way to have titanium valves in an LS3 type cylinder head configuration. The lightweight LS9 valve-train also provides a way for 4.000” and 4.060” bore engines to have a high RPM valve-train capable of similar RPM as the LS7 cylinder heads.

LS9 cylinder heads are precision CNC machined on our in house 5 axis CNC machine to ensure that tight tolerances are maintained. The Lingenfelter CNC porting procedure is a computer controlled machining operation that duplicates details from a finished Lingenfelter hand ported cylinder head. The port and chambers are carefully designed to provide the best combination of high flow capabilities across the entire valve lift range. The Lingenfelter quality control procedures include sectioning sample cylinder heads to confirm minimum wall thicknesses.

Following porting each head receives: Precision 3 angle valve job to maximize flow & provide extended life, CC checking chamber size for correct compression, surfacing to insure deck flatness, deburring, pressure testing, professional assembly, setting spring height & checking all tolerances, and serial number.

Lingenfelter CNC machining of the LS9 heads also includes machining the intake manifold locating bosses on the LS9 heads to allow LS3 and L92 intake manifolds to be bolted to the heads without an interference problem.

Competition Cams 26926-16 springs with Lingenfelter Titanium retainers XX04190-0016 on LS9 heads
Installed height: 1.830
Spring pressure: 135 psi @ 1.830 / 480 psi @ 1.150
Coil bind: 1.100
Max lift: .680

Titanium intake valves require the use of GM lash caps not included. The LS9 cylinder heads feature a thicker bolt deck surface so aftermarket head studs must be used. LPE recommends ARP head studs 234-4317 for block applications using new style short head bolts.
