Brighton, Mich. – On Saturday, October 14, the public will have a chance to browse a 40,000 sq. ft. showroom displaying 150 unique cars including Corvettes, muscle cars and exotics. Ken and Kristen Lingenfelter are opening the doors to their private Lingenfelter Collection – rated one of the top car collections in the World – to raise money and awareness for programs of The Pink Fund.
The mission of The Pink Fund is to provide a 90 day non-medical financial bridge to breast cancer patients in active treatment. Expenses supported include health insurance premiums, housing, transportation and utilities. The Pink Fund helps to meet basic needs and decrease stress levels, helping breast cancer patients strengthen their fight to improve survivorship outcomes and quality of life.
Deborah Hale, a Brighton resident, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February. She was unable to keep her job with Visiting Angles and still had her two children, husband and home to care for. While her family was, and is, of great help to her, the financial impact caused hardship.
“There is so much that happens to you mentally and physically once you have been diagnosed with breast cancer – it’s scary,” said Deborah. “The Pink Fund team helped to relive the anxiety of keeping bills paid and getting me to treatments so I could focus on my health and my family. They are an incredibly generous and helpful organization. I do not know what I would have done without their support.”
Guests attending the Open House will be able to support The Pink Fund by making a monetary donation at the door. In addition to viewing the collection, guests may enjoy Tim Horton’s coffee and pastries provided by Two Unique Catering. Tony’s Dogs mobile hot dog stand will be available for guests’ snack, lunch & drink purchases throughout the event. Ken Lingenfelter will be autographing posters and will be available for pictures in exchange for a small donation. There will also be a silent auction and raffle and quick-sketch artist Darrell Swift will be providing complementary drawings of guests in front of their favorite vehicle within The Lingenfelter Collection. 100% of the event proceeds will directly benefit The Pink Fund.
